has anyone here ordered online from this website? If so, can you tell me if they is good to deal with?

If you dont know about this site, check it out. I just descovered it and its pretty cool, with acid, techno, german trance, italian trance, and hard trance catered for. Good audio samples as well.

i'll eat my words if im wrong but im sure that the kind of techno were into (& yes i know its a large genre with many sub genres and conections) is not the sort that germantrance.com is pushing.
maybe they cater for all..
as far as your question though, if they have been around for some time its probebly indicates that they are reliable. do the currency conversion and keep in mind that you'll be paying duty once it gets here. hidden costs..

i just had a look and they dont stock 'techno'. it reads: hard trance, trance, "techno trance". - big difference.
try posting it in the apropriate form.

the trance form seems to be more of a glorified chat room, your not likely to get a reply there unless your talking about how fukt off your tits you were last weekend or how hot you found some chick at so and so, requesting her to email you back privatly etc. their into the lonely hearts hook up game. sad!
you should check out www.juno.co.uk for ordering online. they cover all genres and seem to have a good reputation. sound bites also.
maybe also read some of the past topics here to see what i mean about 'big difference'. even listen to some sound bites in juno's techno section.
it may be subtle at first but the gap is enormous!

As you say, im not hugely into techno, but am slowly broadening my horizons. I saw that they stock whatever form of techno and thought maybe one of you guys may have ordered from this site.

Ps...what are your thoughts on german/italian trance anyways? Still quite a tough sound with elements of techno in it (selected tracks, of course).

i might add that you should have a listen to some of the 'techno trance' samples, cause they dont sound very trancey to me!

Techno trance is hardly uplifting. The only elements it may use that is considered 'Trance' in any way is similar synth sounds used in Trance and trancey-sounding basslines. Some do bend the rules and have mildly uplifting melodies however.

Im with damnie on this one. Techno in its purist form is not mentioned on that website but everything is crossing over at the moment and techno influences alot of other styles therefore id class alot of what is on germantrance as a form of techno. Look at the likes of BXR, Sacrifice and the biggest example of all..

techno is becoming more mainstream and i think thats a good thing. maybe the age old image of ppl that like techno being elite wankers will slowly fade away.

i've never come across that "image of ppl into techno being elite wankers" thing befor. although i guess anyone being passionate or realy into something could fit that discription. ppl who hold that attitude probebly hold similar views on just about anything, negativity, waste of time, insecurity. not worth paying attention to because it leaves less time to enjoy our interests.
i personaly cant get into the more rave structure or nearly anything 303ish, nor the rock type stucture within a lot of rave inspired tracks.
i prefer the more subtle structure, production and creativity found more towards the cutting edge of contemporary techno. altough i cant deny or ignor its roots.
so yeah, its all in the same ball park, just sitting in a different stand. all electronica has a conection and often the boundries are quite blurred.
different strokes for different folks.

p.s. finding the swedish and italian techno is just a matter of typing 'swedish + italian techno' in a search engine. not very hard.

You're certainly doing a very good job of fitting the aforementioned stereotype of Techno critics. Keep up the good work.

My reference to Swedish/Italian techno was not in reference to finding a ripped MP3 of it on the Internet - it was referring to getting hold of the original vinyl, as more mainstream distributors may not stock it, that's all.

I'm sorry you had to interject cynicism into my otherwise informative post.

ordering online will probebly get you new vinyl faster than any store. searched, found, purchased and delivered in a week. as i said, not very hard.
the rest of my post defines a personal view point and if personal preferences make me elitist than im elitist. hardly something to be sorry about.

Actually, we get shitloads and shitloads of swedish and italian techno in all the time... maybe coming down and checking out an order would also work?

I wasn't complaining, but as it's now 3-against-1 and Crucial are apprent ro delivering the goods, I shall have to pop in and see.

It wasn't meant to be an argument in the first place, merely pointing out Techno (in its purest form) against the offshoots that are emerging from Europe.

I'm particularly after stuff on Sacrifice, Commute and Decomplex Audio (although I believe that is a German label), will catch ya down there this week.

i mean thats the whole point of having a form. a collection of individuals sharring information and personal views is what this is here for. offcourse ppl's ideas will clash now and then.
