sorry i mean "know much about this place"
f**k i'm a sh*t spella,that's a university education for ya!

Where is it James Brown?
[quote]
next to control room,basement mid-city
[quote]
sounds interesting ...
[quote]
Oh is that the hidden room in Control room? That place tripped me out when they had Clash of the Codes.

Hope open decks are around in October. I'll come and rip shit up Smile (literally, I will)
[quote]
ummm, don't know, its door is on the left of da control room entrance.
ps.that producer was DLT. Smile
[quote]
i missed clash of the codes, had a friends party to play.
[quote]
Hey Jamesy bwoy

I have a mate who plays the open dex there occasionly, breaks and the likes. Apparently theres a door charge for the control room now too, anyone know anything about this?

Clash of the Codes was the biznizz, and i have to say dub was the winner on the day
[quote]
hahaha.
hiphop ain't really music to winner a soundclash wit!!!
opendecks are my kinda thing.i've played for heaps of money b4,and had a chance last year to make a resonably decent name for myself as a dj in ak but decided to shun all limelight and stick waay underground, partly out of fear of becoming a marketing toy of multinational coporation(sorry no names,i don't won't to give away my real identity!!),but also cos i prefer "bedroom dj" status, occasionly playing out wit friends and earning no money.
all the best djs i know don't play out much!!
[quote]
Hmm if I guess who you are do I win a prize? Can you name say one local gig you did in the city last year and i'll see if I can figure out who you are.

Should've guessed DLT. DUH!

Yeah Clash of the Codes was the shiznit, I managed to get my ass there for some hiphop vs dub then run across the road in time for Total Science. One of the best nites out in AKL for a long time!

I'd say thats the secret room @ Control Room. I can't remember what they called it but its the chillout room for every major gig. Pity they don't put on as many major gigs down there anymore Sad
[quote]
no prizes sorry!
giv me your email and i'll tell you exactly who i am!
i played support for mad professor last year, but don't use my dj alais anymore cos i couldn't really justify it playing slack lyriced dancehall!!(bit of a clue).
[quote]
alright then buddy lets narrow it down a wee bit eh? Be warned im armed wit the the flyer from the gig.

Hmmm....
Jahred?
Manni?
Brother J?

...although they all sound good for a dancehall DJ

[quote]
James Brown, I don't know any djs who play specifically dancehall. Hmm you must be around the same age as DLT then?

My email addy:
caron.m@bigpond.com

No need to be shy of your alias? Are you scared people will say FARK YOURE THAT DJ. I HATE YOU. YOU PLAYED A WHACK SET! >:o(
[quote]
Mad Professor isn't a local gig - he's internatty. Any other gigs? I didn't go to Mad Professor.
[quote]
nearly there chief!well actually you got me,theres only 1 dj in that list.
i don't use as alias at all in anymore cos jah praisin(rasta lyrics) and slack lyrics(rude bwoy gangsta style) don't mix.
so to be calling myself what i was was a bit of a nono.
i'm not nearly as old as DLT (i'm 21),plus i don't play specifically dancehall (thats just the buzz i been on for the last 6 months),i play heaps of dub, downbeat, hiphop as well.
actually my mad prof set was waaay whack, xfader on mixer set real weird, feedback, only got my crate of dub records which i had taken overseas wit me back 3 hours b4 gig (hadn't seen them in over a month).
hahaha,excuses excuses.
hey acrornm,i'll email ya my actual details, theres something you may know me from that i'd rather keep out of here!nothing dodgy tho!
[quote]
Well no that doesn't sound dodgy at all! Razz

Anyhow that Mad Prof night was badass, theres no need to be shy about laying claim to that. All the djs/acts I checked were cool.

Anyhow with the deal with the control room cover charge its only $2 and you get a voucher/token giving you $2 off your first drink. So just a method of getting the drinks sales up.
[quote]
Hey thats good, its free but not but kind of sounds like a deal. Smile

Hope its still runnin come October.
