Open Decks in Christchurch?

Does anyone know if there are any bars/clubs planning to do nights like this?

I know concrete was doing them (are they still?)

Just seems like the dj scene is very quiet in terms of the up and commers

So, how does the open decks at Concrete Club work? Is it just roll in with some tunes, and put your name down?

In Christchurch for a few days at the end of the week (coming down to visit friends, and hear Hexadecimal play on the Saturday night), and I thought I might check this out - online gig guides suggest there's a "special edition" Open Decks night on Thursday, does anyone know anything about this to tell me (us all, I guess)?
