do you think hamilton is ready?... kinda along the lines of UNITY - CHCH
[quote]
No. I don't think hamilton is ready for it. There aren't enough people in people to fill normal weekly/fornightly clubnights as it is. They may come out for a bigger event, but your still working with a small base of people who actually like 'dance music'.

If you were going to - Where do you plan to hold something like this??....assuming there would be at least 3 rooms

Catalyst and Alcove maybe?
[quote]
Are you looking for big names or locals??? (auckland/Hamilton locals)
[quote]
I totally see where you coming from johnson... how ever I think the only clubs that could support this kinda of event would be liquid lounge, catalyst (up stairs and downstairs), altitude?.. maybe.. and that would be it! these places could cover the lot of styles!

Liquid - House
Catalyst - Breaks, Hip-Hop, DnB - Hard Dance?
Altitude? - Hard Dance/bands

give me some ideas.. this is what im thinking

maybe even some bands like, trinity roots, sal dub, fat freddys drop, cornerstone etc... but this is an idea.. I would like heaps of input.. please!

Depending on the size of the event have you ever thought about putting a party together like alpine unity or the gathering out at mystery creek.
A three day event, over new years would go off out there.

I know dreams are free, but hey you've gotta think big aye!!!

If you are planning a NYE type big gig... best to do it right away from waikato and go to a beach. Car

It is EXTREEMLY difficult to operate a multi venue event, and usually considered far too much hassle & risk. So unless you can find a building with several rooms youre probably pushing something brown & sticky up hill with a stick.
[quote]
definetly not NYE.. beach styles on.. but there needs to be a huge event thrown in hamilton very soon (6months or so) Mr. Green
[quote]
They have held nights in the past that utilised both catalyst and alcove, from memory that worked quite well. You couldn't have one room at catalyst then another down at liquid lounge because its too far to walk. maybe if you could hire out liquid lounge judder bar and the loft or maybe even monkey feather. Sounds like a shit load of planning and alot could could go wrong.

Big ups to you if you can pull it of!! Mr. Green
[quote]
How would you work out how much of the ticket price each club gets ???
[quote]
I reckon the Meteor would be the place for it. I have been to a gig
there before and it went off.

I think a few local Djs and a few from Aucks would make it a
pretty substantial kinda nite.

What do you guys think?
[quote]
Meteor sounds like a cool place... definelty on the list!
[quote]
Confused sounds risky. Shiteload of money required to pull it off. hard to gaurantee a crowd at a gig like that. Also have to keep ticket prices way down and have it on a night when there is NOTHING else on.
But don't let that put yo off. Very Happy Music

Whats the deal with metor and booze???

Can you get it licenced?

or is it alcohol free??
[quote]
A licence can be applied for, but with that comes all the usual restrictions.
Still, worth enquiring about.
Most just drink red bull & water anyway, don't need a licence for that!
[quote]
Who do you contact to book metor?? Having a few venue issues at the moment (dates etc...) and running out of time!!
[quote]
No luck with MF?

How bout a treck to Roma?
