jon didnt bust in there and tell people he had a bomb. its a bit different. theres no way you could set off a fire alarm in a club and it not clear out.... the game jon went to didnt.

Its only different because he didnt get caught. Why didn't he just go in without a bomb he could have still proved his point about security.

IF they had found the bomb then you accept that the police/ security would have had to clear it out (just like if the fire alarm got set off and someone is standing there explaining it) and it would disrupt a whole lot of peoples day?

But that's just it. It wasn't meant to be a funny stunt; and the Fairfax crew have really had to cover their arses on this and tried to justify their irresponsible behaviour by invoking the (non extant) security dimension of their action. Manufactured news is all it is. Cheap and nasty.

look, from the point of view of someone who couldn't really give two shits about the RWC, who wasn't at the stadium (that didnt get evacuated) and who doesn't work for the sunday star..... i think it was pretty fucking funny.

i understand all of the issues here but as far as i can tell - paper did a story that made me laugh - people could have been inconvenienced but weren't - now said paper is getting rinsed because of their irresponsible reporting..... i knoe gummi said we can't operate on an 'alls well that ends well' basis but shit man
