Olympics in Rio

Surprised no-one has started a thread on this already.

I am stoked that Rio got the Olympics. Anything other than them would have been a complete farce - especially if it'd been Chicago.

I was surprised South America had never held one - that alone warranted at least one go to keep with the Olympic spirit of mutual trust, hope and friendship.

Makes you think, why don't they have a system so that no country/continent can hold it again for at least 3 more games after holding it... or similar-ish scheme?

the olympics have lost any charm they once held and now it is the domain of serial drug takers/dopers, their agents & lawyers and a legon of sponsors

it is ALL as exciting as the professionalism of rugby IMO
