Oil Leak

My MR2 (SW20 turbo) has started leaking oil and it's become more aggressive since the weekend. I haven't checked it out yet, but I've got to give it an oil change and filter sometime this weekend or next anyway, but does anyone have any experience with the MR2s and perhaps some ideas on what the cause might be so I know where to look or what to expect?

best thing to do is just have a nosey under it and see if you can see where it's actually leaking from. i know the engine bay is pretty tight, been a while since i actually looked in one myself, but check around the oil filter, oilpan gaskets, valve cover gaskets, turbo oil line and return line.

somewhere at some point i had the factory service manual PDF, will see if i can dig it out.

heh, just looked at some engine bay pics to refresh my memory, you aint gunna be seeing shit from around the turbo.

lay down some newspaper under the car overnight and see if you can locate which area it's actually coming from, this will narrow things down

Being a bit short on time and a place to fix it (and not really being interested anymore in that sort of stuff), I decided to bite the bullet and hand it over to the local mechanic who had been recommended to me, it's the turbo oil line. Not gonna break the bank, and he'll do a service on it too

good to catch it quickly, that can lead to much expense in very short order. ask him to clean up the area around it so you can keep an eye on it once it's done for the next few weeks to make doubly sure it's sorted.
