OGA Tarts

I used to also go out with one of those 0GA girls,
she was in no way a tart and is actually a really nice person.

theres a thread in the lounge about judging people by the way they look.

Yeah, I think they could do much better with the uniforms, bring back the lime green. I was a OGA girl myself for a while and admit that I didn't think I'd come accross so many rude people on KRoad. It's not hard to say "no thanks" instead of grabbing the flyer and throwing it obviously on the ground 2 seconds later. However there are also many friendly and happy people on KRoad that make the night seem worthwhile. So if you do see a OGA girl out in the cold, working hard while others are partying, give them a smile and say "good job". That would have made my night.

no offense, but do you really expect people to stop and pat the OGA girls on the backs because they are standing on the street handing out fliers?

I'm sure they are nice people but it's not exactly like they are using their intelligence or saving the world...

I think expecting people (who are having a good night out after working hard all week to earn their money) to stand in awe of some flier girls is a bit rich.

Do you guys defend absolutely EVERYBODY? I think sometimes people on here take things all a bit too seriously........and maybe (just maybe) they can be a little annoying sometimes when they are handing out fliers, fair enough point I thought.

I understand you defending their character, but surely there is nothing wrong with someone finding a flier person a little irritating. Yes it's a job, but the nature of the job is to try and get people who are otherwise occupied to take a flier

Hell, I sure as hell find the influx of flier people on K-Rd annoying, there is such a thing as overkill...

I just disagree with people abusing the worker, calling them tarts etc when the people they should be aiming their comments too is the employer.

Sport! Get over yourself? Are you male or female?

If you are male my theory is that you got the knock back from one of the girls, if you are female - perhaps you have a couple of self esteem issues?

I know at least three of the OGA girls, in fact the one I know best had her birthday yesterday and she is one of the most down to earth people I know which is refreshing in this sometimes 'superficial' clubbing scene.

Act like a TURTLE and pull your head in.

Oh - and once you have finished doing the turtle thing for me. Pick up a Marketing text book and you will see that there is some pretty sound reasoning behind the flyers.

personally who cares who knows who personally - it's about the job they do right?...and anybody that waves fliers in my face annoys the hell out of me too so I say good for sport. Flier people CAN BE VERY ANNOYING.

If YOU pick up your marketing text book CeeJ you'll see that it's people like sport that facilitate change and improve the effectiveness of marketing stratagies by pointing out what they do and don't like. Hence people do market research - to find out how much people really like their products, services, marketing, etc, etc

And just because it's a job CeeJ doesn't make them any less annoying, no matter what they are like in person

Exposure is more important than pissing off the odd person. And even if they do annoy person A, person A is still likely to go to the event that they have been made aware of.
Oh yeah, they may have been aware of the event before, but repeated exposure is far more effective. That is why Coca-Cola (to pick just one company) advertises repeatedly every hour every day. If if didnt work, they wouldnt do it. : )

And it works so well. Otherwise you might be able to move and dance with a bit of space at OGA eh

to be honest I don't really find coca-colas advertising campaign very annoying. I'd say they have some very smart people in charge

molatov - I think that's more to do with overselling an event that a few girls handing out fliers, but I agree with the lack of space to move

snazzy - what evidence does 'sport' have that the OGA girls are tarts? I understand completely the annoyance at having flyers handed out, but theres no need to refer to the people that do it as tarts. Those girls probably have more clothes on that half of the people that go to OGA events anyway. Its part of the scene. Resorting to personal attacks about someone because you dont like what they do is immature.

One of them happens to be one of my best friends and i take GREAT offence to her being called a tart, as she is one of the coolest chick i know.
So, before making calls like that, please have an idea of what you are talking about
