Wow. what a night. thank you so much to everyone who came and everyone who contributed to the night to make it what it was!
///The DJ's:
Hats off to everyone who played, you were all amazing, highlights of the night of course were Ben Stevens and Paul Glazby. two insane sets each and when they combined for that vicious circle hour, holy crap that brought back some memories! fire in the sky! beautiful! tortured! yeaaaahhhh!!
A special mention to RP and Sheldon who soldiered on and had the foyer of studio cranking harder than i've ever seen it before during the first fire alarm fiasco.
For me personally that was one of the most enjoyable sets i've played. having such an up for it crowd, all smiling, with that setup really made it for me
///The Crew:
CLUB STARGATE who brought some fantastic product that was most definately not available inside the venue. Also for being awesome people and enhancing the atmosphere of the gig!
A MASSIVE thanks to the M2 boys for bringing their lasers to OCTANE. they looked ridiculously amazing in the main room as demonstrated by that video above! (thanks emily for that) expect to see more of those lasers at CHEMISTRY.
Thanks to SAMSUNG who provided all 10 screens that really set the stage on fire.
DurtyMovie productions filled those screens with live tastiness for the majority of the night and in my opinion did a brilliant job.
All the boys for coming in to help pack out. you know who you are and you are legends, i salute you.
My doorgirl Shelly, thank you for spending the night in the little box at the front.
The bar manager Cahla, who kept her head when the f**king fire alarms went and being an all round awesome person.
Leighton the sound engineer, who was the reason the rooms were sounding so MINT through the whole night.
DION my legend of a mate, who was the one to identify the first fire alarm issue and basically fix it, once again you were a huge part of Octane mate, good to have you back on board!
The guy that fixed the fire alarm and identified the smoke detector that was causing the issue.
My lovely girlfriend, who put up with me talking about this gig non stop for months on end haha.
and last but not least:
You. thank you for coming and i hope you enjoyed the event. I apologise for the fire alarms, i wish they could've been avoided but we dealt with them the best we could
/////
This was the biggest Octane yet, in terms of production, and both Paul and Ben have said they would be happy to come back again, so watch this space next year.
There may be more up the Octane sleeve in my jacket yet, but we shall see, this event has taken an insane amount of effort, but the thanks of people last night and seeing the dancefloor packed and loving it till damn near 5am definitely made me happy.
Cheers
Kyle D + the Octane Crew.
