...and rumour has it that Steve Price is on the outer with the rest of the team. I hope not because aside from the direct problems with Pricey and possible form, it also alludes to wider problems of cohesion and unity within the team. Ask the Bulldogs what happens when that starts happening... :/

I will stop to support the Warriors if we ever bought Mason.

Nothing concrete mate so I can't attribute any real substance to it. My whanau have been season ticket holders since '95, immortals ticket holders for some of those years, and have developed some friendships with some of the staff and sometimes they talk. Some of the time it's just pure scuttlebutt but other times it's been on point.

Hence me making a caveat about it being a rumour and nothing more.

Well this is a sad situation. Gptta feel sorry for Price he's been a great servant but its a good example of what happens when sportspeople insist on playing well into their twilight. price could have retired at the end of the 2008 season and been pretty much immortal.

But he decided to play on and in the past year hes tried to start a fight in Origin and got knocked out cold, been stripped of the captaincy at the Warriors and will now have to play out his final season with the allegation he is generally unpopular as a person. Poor guy

Anyone watch the NRL/Indigenous All Stars game? What a cracker of a game! Both sides playing with the intensity of a representative game. The NRL couldn't have hoped for a better advertisement for the game given that this is the opening weekend of Super 14 as well.

Yeah, instead of a conversion. And you can't kick the ball. In the All Star game on the weekend they did some moves involving walls and stuff to disguise which way the ball was going. Nobody managed to score a try though.

I think teams will generally go for the conversion. Unless they are down by 4 with a few minutes to go. Seems pretty hard to score in one play with a defense that is all set.

Warriors win again 28-6 against the Cowboys. We were missing Price, Tait, Henderson and Mannering and they were missing Thurston.

Not too much that you can take out of that except it appears that Seymour is taking over the kicking duties.

Most players are picking Roosters as the Dark Horse this season.

Wasn't at all excited about this season but am starting to get there

I've been hanging out for some loigue action. Been such an uninspiring summer for sport.

That reserves bench is to omit one, likely to be Moon as McKinnon can come on and play fullback and Hohaia can switch to hooker. The backline looks good, without having seen too much of the halves in action that is, but our forwards look a little young and inexperienced.

I think the Titans will be too tough at home and in the hot Queensland sun. Also I heard on 40/20 last sunday that the Titans have decided that they will be wearing their alternative white strip which forces us to wear our black strip. Of course they deny that it has anything to do with us... Cunts.

^ Nah, I saw John Cartwright on Sports Tonight and he was straight up saying that it was on purpose, and you have to take those opportunities to get every slight advantage possible, which I guess is fair enough

So Joel Moon just wandered into the old mans workshop after a WOF and mentioned to the old fulla that he'd been told he was going to be in the side on sunday. If he doesn't get selected, I think this is a pretty shitty way of doing things. You should know a lot earlier if you are going to be included or not. The uncertainty doesn't help anyone imo.

Also he mentioned that the players are all convinced there is a conspiracy afoot from the NRL with both their away games played in Queensland at 1pm in the afternoon.

Disagree totally. Keeping players on the edge of performance peak is essential to get the best out of them, no matter how close game time is. If you tell someone they're not playing there's a distinct chance they'd take their foot off the gas. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen.

Two things this season is going to hinge on are the quality of our halves signings (which sounds familiar).....and how good our younger players, particualry the forwards, come through. Backing young kiwis to man up in the NRL isnt far fetched..... as long as they are guided well, so that brings us around to the coaching staff and the signings.

Our back line barring halves has fireepower experience and attitude, so who knows...we could easily have a good season here. Last year we were 3rd/4th favourites to win the Granbd Final....this year we are 3RD TO LAST

Which is a good thing I think. The boys seem to respond better when they're not under intense scrutiny and pressure.

Latimore has come across from Parramatta, young aussie prop. Don't know too much about him tbh. Lousi has come up from the U/20 last year where he was one of the stars of the team. Big Poly second rower, hard runner with some ball skills and an ability to smash cunts. He stood out last year and apparently has trained really well over the off season and has impressed.

Oh there was some talk in the news tonight that the Warriors are applying to wear their retro alternative strip. The old school '95 throwback one. I don't know if they were taking the piss or not...

Fuck Denan Kemp scored a blinder to win the game for the Broncos last night. Made no secret of how happy he is to be back in Brisbane after he scored it too. I said it before and I'll keep saying it... He was undone last year by shit halves and Tate getting injured so early in the season.

Two great games last night though! Great start to the season!

I was reading today that Latimore is a former Junior Kangaroo. Some potential there then. If he steps up then we can get rid of the so very awful Jesse Royal. :>

Denan Kemp is still shit, absolutely no defence and one of the most non-proactive wingers out. He's bloody quick when given the space to run straight down alongside the sideline but that's about it. Glad to see him gone. He does look happy with the Broncs though.

That was frustrating as hell and promising all at once. I really thought we were gonna get a toweling but to come so close and even lead for most of the game tilted the fuck out of me!

Some promising signs there but it was pretty much what I thought would happen. They tailed off towards the end of the game. The end of the 2nd half they just looked utterly dead and from then on, the forwards made little to no go forward and that killed off any chance of further attack.

Halves look good, Maloney played especially well I thought, Heremaia played really well and played himself to a standstill but really... The Titans played shockingly bad and we should have finished them off. Once our forwards get hungrier and more match fit, we'll be more competitive. Plenty of points in that backline though I reckon.

Early days yet, we'll see how they go over the next few weeks of a pretty tough schedule to get a real acid test on how they're going to look this season.

The guy is a winger, what is the one thing wingers are tasked to do? Finish the play. (I know immediately what you're thinking of Maestro ) Now what's the wingers main link men? The Centre and the Halves. Tate was his centre pairing last year and we all know how woefully underperforming our halves were. Now when the player in question has a great season with one club, then a shit one with another club and then begins to show signs that he's about to have another great season with his original club, you have to wonder...

Vatuvei was 10x better than Kemp last year and he had the same halves/centres around him.. Kemp often kicked the ball out on the full after opposition tries and led the side in missed tackles - I bet you $50 that when we play the Broncos Ivan Cleary will have us targeting his wing.. can't wait
