Mahatma Gandhi didn't even get one.

Pope John Paul II didn't get one either (if you think his sort of efforts warrant one).

Obama got one in 12 days.

While the Obamatons may disagree, I'm thinking this was a political stunt, to make it difficult for Obama to take action on Iran.

I think the prize has lost it's prestige, if at all it ever had any?

Why did he deserve it again?

he got nominated for one 12 days after he won the presidency it wasnt awarded at that time and who knows if it was for things he helped beforehand.

henry freaking kissinger got one!

People have got them on a number of occasions despite their involvement in wars and questionable human rights issues.

Henry Kissinger for example got one for the Vietnam war peace process right after he was a key instigator of massive bombings against the North Vietnamese in Cambodia.

Yasser Arafat - ditto. Got his for being basically a well-spoken, smarter than average terrorist.

I agree. He's already starting with human rights issues at home with the armed forces and the don't ask, don't tell policy.

Right Livelihood Awards might be more your thing a Tauranga man just having won the peace award
