The fact that YBR is one of only two 'regualr' dance parties in Auckland really makes me wanna turn eighteen. I mean I have been and enjoyed myself everytime but Im just bursting to get into it. Although i geuss it is good for starters.

But I was wondering, what did now older biggies have in terms of all ages back in their days. Or was it the transition to 18 that opened up that world of clubs and fantastic music that we love oh so much.

hell there was heaps back in their days! whitewash, cranking, the brain and some others if im not mistaken! i went to the last kranking, twas meeean!! back in i think january or february last year

oh and -Mc.Nasty- the r18 scene is not that great, rather sad actually, id much rather goto a YBR than a r18 gig, and i know many other people who think the same

Hey team,

As for back in the day, hell we had Lagered, Whitewash, the Brain to name but a few. When the Power Station was open that was Aucklands premier All Ages Rave venue! Then there was Platinum, and Icon, playing the finest hard core, and gabba regularly on Friday and Saturday nights. We really were, spoilt for choice when I was 15/16. It was awesome! Now, we have YBR, and the occasional cranking, which is fine, but of course there is room for more parties! Know, that there is absolutely nothing stopping any of you starting up your own party! All you need... is a venue, some DJs, some security and some decor, some party people and ta da! You just created something worth doing on a Saturday night!

In terms of energy, I can definitly say that there is far more energy at yellow brick road parties than there is in the R18 crowd... that's for sure! UNLESS of course you are at a full powered full on totally psychedelic trance party! Most of the outdoor psy parties are also open age, so hippies can bring their kids along too! Be sure to check one out when the next one comes up!

In the mean time... Vai is preparing an extra special super deluxe set for all you yellow brick roaders... whether it be your first taste of psy trance mayhem or you second... this will kick up a storm! Outdoors and meaty.
