next 'open decks'

can anyone tell me when the next open decks is happening in auckland? hopefully this isn't a thread-repeat....

Their ain't many good 'Open Decks' nights. There is one at Ellusion on a Thursday, but it's a bunch of Gannets fighting for 15 minutes most the time. And in my opinion, the manager is a real cock. So better to save it up till you throw your own party or something Somethign will come up

is spin decks hard? always wantd to try neva really had any idea of what to do but i wana try how and what should i start on ? im only keen for a muck round like house parties and stuff cause i no it could take up to 10 yrs to get good

There was a bloody good one on Wed night at the lounge....high st.. .. DJ Prysm ripped it up, was a great night !!

All I can say Forest is practice makes perfect... it'll not take you 10years to get good. . . if you have an ear for it, it'll only take you a few months to get going .... mikem, ether, prysm, djkowski, perrin and myself all started the same time and we would practise everyday solid for 6 months.... and this is how we started ...

oh ok sounds cool well when i finsh tech and get sum $$$ im gana start any good brands names or sites i can check out for nz or aussie, i really have a big umm how to say appreaction for guys who can do it even if the music is crap they still up there working hard. anyone who can spin decks is a hard working person in book umm mm siren is well lol very nice too

hehe. .. .yeah... its is hardwork ... myself personally, I have taken a pass on DJing for a while ... I am concerntrating on my new album, .... DJing is hardwork ... and not as glam as people think it is ... a "real" DJ will always look for new tunes, stuff in there scene and also at the same time try to please the crowd ... it also helps if you have a great personality behind the decks .... too many DJ's forget what there up there for ... a preformance is not just about playing tunes well ...

There is an open decks at Supper club every
monday night.....sometimes even on a tuesday
night too.....I think Garage bar in Ponsonby has
open decks too...but not sure of what night it is
(or even if it still happens!)

The Elbow Room... Wednesday night.... Thanks for the props Nemisis.. I too had a wicked night...glad you liked my set... even if I was pissed off my face C U next wednesday.
