HEAT LIKE ME
You Want It EP
Who doesn’t love multiple synthesisers? Heat Like Me are a local live dance music band that write and perform on all analog equipment. Singer Rachel Service’s voice is much more mature than the cutesy and/or sardonic fem-led electronic bands that adorn the current local scene, sounding like she could hold her own on any Ministry Of Sound compilation.
However, backed by joyful live synths, unashamedly lifted Daft Punk basslines, vintage beats and a Commodore 64 garnish here and there, Heat Like Me could very well be the bridge that spans the the dance music divide between the Shapeshifters and the Golden Axes of the world.

BIONIC PIXIE
“Encompassing equal parts heart and cheek, Bionic Pixie is a ballsy and sharp, brass knuckles philosophy at the command of its creator and alter-ego, Aucklander and Bengal Light. A solo-project in its infancy, broaching topics close to her heart - it's all about kicking ass, sincerity to yourself and dilemmas with boys. Formed in early_2007, Bionic's sound consists of bass drums, frenetic arrangements and_computer generated echo-ey bleeps as a backdrop for a curiously_alien-like vocal style. Fleury's exciting live presence, her penchant_for silver get-ups and gold sequinned shoes make this one of New_Zealand's more exciting and innovative bands in recent memory… This is an innovative sound completely removed from the mundane_aspects of reality. A brave and refreshing approach to the_electro-rap genre, making it known that the future is NOWâ€.
