New Suzuki Swift

Whats your view on this lttle beasty?
Granny car or street cred?
I want to buy one to dump on 17s or 18s if the guards allow.......
I know its not the fastest thing in the world and it wouldnt compare to my skyline but for 19 grand drive away I think Its got potential....

Tough call on the Swift, If it was done up and had a little grunt might be quite cool would sure show some people up, you should be able to fit 17's and lower it (the guards may need a roll though) 18's might call for some custom guard flaring which is a mission and expensive as hell unless you have a talented panel beater mate i.e. file finish, not bogged up to buggery...

Im not on Trademe otherwise id be keen for a look, is it R32, 33?? I have seen a few clear tail lamps around for them, Im really keen to get some bright red LED ones, Japanese Performance are supposed to be bringing some in.

If you wanted real street cred with the Swift idea, rip the motor out and fit a GT Starlet turbo motor, those motors are brilliant, a few basic pretty inexpensive mods and you'll have a suzuki swift that will eat an evo..

we have these at my work (thrifty car rental) and they are sweet az little cars.

they beat a 1.8 corolla up to 100k's and are only 1.3.

plus they look cool. mind you i am bias towards small cars as i have one.

i quite like the styling on them, esp. the rear 3/4 view.
