yeah the way you have it has completely thrown all the people who will go out and p2p all the tunes they like the sound of and its not fair.

It sounds wicked mate, have listened to it heaps lately.

Have to say Rob makes a good point, there's something that's always annoyed me about that too.

Even better - don't put the tracklist. Encourage people to give your mixes a shot 'blind'. Mixes are more fun that way. Everytime I see a tracklist it is far more likely to make me not download/listen to it simply because it's hard not to look for tunes/artists you know and judge it by the few you might recognise.

You can still put "includes tunes by... " as a teaser. but the whole tracklist as the sales pitch is counter-productive to getting real feedback imo.

Totally agree Rob, would rather have not put one at all, but someone always asks eh! So to avoid this, i guess see fit let them know. Plus I don't care if people know the tracks or not, I'd hope people would judge because its a good or bad mix, not because of who is on there.
I play tracks I like, not because its made by such and such.

When there's as much clutter as there is in everyone's lives they can't help but judge a mix by it's tracklist before they listen to it.

It's a hard call - there's plusses one way or the other.

ive always liked to do it that way... people dont judge your mix until they have heard it.

Am in Christchurch I'm afraid. Would be good to do a radio show, the progesk type of dj's don't get to much play down here, and if they do its either at 10 as a warm up or at 5am as a warm down!

ha ha im not going to judge your mix on where you come from. After all, Christchurch was second only to Wellington for a prog scene back in the day... apparently its disappeared now though. Still goes hard in Wellington though, i love that place. Id move down there in a heartbeat if it wasnt for my croozy auckland lifestyle and job etc

Yeah man, it's nt a thriving scene but some of us are still flying the flag proudly. I was just getting into djing when that was on. Coming back to nz a few years back was a little dissapointing to see how much it had died. especially, since i'd left indo, where the tribal/prog scene is wicked good.
None the less, it's what I love.
I really need to get to welly, and check it out. Be funny to have a meeting of the nz prog peeps in the capitol for a weekend! Don't know anyone there, but am sure it could be sorted at a venue or 2!
