New mix for d/l

Just whipped it up last week on cdj's for a club that asked me for a mix, so not perfect and not mastered. Good tracks though

d/loading now and looking forward to hearing it... though a personal tip...

i'd recommend avoiding admitting to saying its "not mastered or perfrect" given a promo mix should reflect what your actual mixing ability is like for playing in a club.

reading between the lines and clearly pointing out that this is not a dig at you jared, just making a generalistic point.... if you cant make a clean useable mix cd without mastering it, then how can you justifty playing a club set???

imho, dont be afraid to simply say "CHECK THIS SHIT OUT" and give everyone the chance to believe it's the shit.

btw... from the 3rd track on, i'm really enjoying the mix...

Heh. Im a perfectionist, so if there is a couple of mixes that arent up to scratch I know it and dont mind sharing. Did it in one take in an evening with a pair of cdj's, didnt work out any release points etc beforehand. A couple of tracks dont really belong imo.. after a couple of listens. However its a nice mix so thought I would share.

Me usually mastering all my mixes has nothing to do with levels/eq'ing. As that is always very good regardless.

People master them usually so they sound comparable to other CDs - usually loudness is the key aim. In a club setting this element doesn't even exist.

Agree with Matt, ive been making mix cds for over 7 years and none of them were mastered. They shouldnt need to be. It reflects more truley on your djing if they arent...

Hey Jared had a listen to the mix at work today, very enjoyable, it had a nice rolling techy feel to it. Although at times during the middle of the disc i was left hanging, waiting for you to change gears and give it the beans, which never really happened. Still you used a few of the same tunes as i used on my recent mix (which you can download here), which proves 2 things...
great minds think alike! and, you can use some of the same tunes on a mix that sounds completely different. Good shit
