First up....As I Lay Dying. Their new album "The Powerless Rise sees the band finally achieving the levels they have been
trying to since they started out. Maybe the new kings of Metalcore (fuck I hate that word)

Next is the new album from Fear Factory, the much anticipated return of Dino (he and Burton are friends again...yays!)
Featuring the almighty Atomic Clock Gene Hoglan on the tubs.

Lastly (my puter keeps fucking out on me) is kinda newish, the new album is called "Slaves of the Word", and the band is
Old Man's Child - Galder from Dimmu Borgir has this side
project that seems to be stealing fans from Dimmu. Kinda like a black metal supergroup, like Ov Hell.
They have never made any videos, so it's just fan ones Im afraid.

Shit I forgot about this one, Keep of Kalessin.
These dudes are fucking amazing, and this song is one of the most epic, majestic black metal tunes ever.
This is the perfect balance of majesty and brutality.

The new Soulfly Album "Omen" is brutal. Sounds like a Sepultura album and if you get the LTD edition theres a great version of Chaos AD on it.

Yep Max is well and truly back on form, even their last album was a new step in the right direction.
Pity I cant say the same about Sep's.

Joey Jordison from Slipknot was just voted best drummer in the past 25 years in Rhythm Magazine.
37 percent!!
Pretty cool for a little dude.

Thats redic. Hes good but hes no Dave Lombardo.
[quote]
Yeah Daves good, but he's no where as colorful as Joey. Plus he cant blast.
Problem with Joey though, is he's a real slut.

and both of them have nothing on Gene Hoglan.

Here's something a bit different.
Rotting Christ from Greece. They used to be very dark (hence the band name) but, they have moved on to a more Greek rootsy sort of thing.
This is the title track from their latest album, full of exotic scales, traditional instrumentation, and the superb female chanting which is kind of a mixolydian thing, sounding dark and very powerful.

brutal... far to for my tastes

The new album from Norwegian black metal superstars Dimmu Borgir titled Abrahadabra has just been released, and I have to say its fucking great.
Full of trademark symphonic shenannigans, blast beats, a really spooky female choirs, and Shagrath (vocals) reaching beyond his normal bm style vox. Oh and they have traded in their cenobyte type leather and have gone for a snow/ice woolly look.
See for yourself.

The new vid from Polish heavy weights Behemoth.
