I've registered a new channel on irc.observers.net

#nzdnb

This is the same IRC network that #biggie is on for those of you that don't know.

If you're unfamiliar with IRC;

- Go to http://www.mirc.com and download mIRC

- Install the program

- Type in the status window:

/server irc.observers.net

/join #nzdnb

Then you should see us fools sittin' there!


Make sure ya drop by, especially if yer in #biggie already!

It sounds like mIRC is loading a server up for you and all the channels are starting to list. Try and find the status window, then if you type /server irc.observers.net followed by /join #nzdnb it should work.

Remember to fill in all the blank parts in 'options' otherwise you won't be able to connect.

I'd not heard of "observers" or whatever it is till biggie came along.. seems kinda small and obscure..

True that, if you ask me there should be an an irc server setup here in New zealand, for the whole online dance scene comunity.

Which would host the likes of biggie, nzrave, and other personal rooms such as #nzdnb

It doesnt matter where the server is.... just the network it hangs off..

Yeah, I remember we used to have a channel on undernet.. but I've forgotten the name of it.

I lost interest in Undernet when it was smurfed by Romainian hackers or whatever, and X and Y parted for ages. Since most of us are on the observers network for #biggie anyway, it was the likely choice for the channel.

It has a sweet bot set-up anyway, no registering for ages to get one like undernet.. can be done in a matter of minutes

I have access to a personal NZ IRC server, but if you think observers is small and obscure!! Getting everyone to migrate over to it would be a fucken mission..

I guess so, but it would be more logical to host New zealand chatters, on a new zealand based server, to improve efficiency and performance

I also have many a machines around nz that one could be hosted on...
