ghost

why use ghost if its only a few programs?
ghost is for cloning partitions and hard drives

Because just copying and pasting stuff aint gonna work straight off. There is all the registry settings for the software you have installed to consider. It's best to use something specifically for cloning the system.

thats what i was saying harvey but no point in copying just the program files he would need to ghost the whole installment...but he has already installed xp

I'd suggest ghosting the old drive contents onto the new drive and then doing an upgrade XP install.

it's really the only way to get all your installed programs onto the new HD.
