Yesterday in gym, squats on one of those racks that you hook the bar back in
anyway wasnt a heavy squat, like 90kg, but I tried to hook it back in and leaned back too far
like a limbo almost
anyway gravity took over, I'm bending double, weights falling down towards me, fucking scared
it bounces off the stops, I hit the floor HARD (back of head, shoulders)
anyway today I feel like my entire neck/shoulder has been minced
at least i'm alive though

rough, vadz. My squatting ability is lacking, I've had similar problems before almost falling over at the bottom of the squat, it's not much fun. My flexibility & strength is making full squats below parallel difficult at the moment, so I've gone back to leg press for a while.

bonus squat failure hilarity video where guy requires help from his mum:

I'd finished the actual exercise, it was just trying to hook the bar back in. They call them safety machines or something but personally I think they make it more dangerous as you have to do a little twisting motion to get the hooks back in.

Anyway STILL SORE AS FUCK!!

Smith machines are fantastic... I always use them Very Happy

Guts for the accident though :S

Yeesh, that's a bit scary. The one at my gym locks onto the latches if you accidently drop it (you have to hold it back to disable the safety).
