Sohl Bar is bringing Nathan Haines and his 'Lifetime Tour' to Hamilton. Originally Nathan was doing a 6-date tour, excluding Hamilton, but he will now appear at Sohl on Friday 2 September.

Nathan Haines is known as one of New Zealand's biggest jazz musicians. Nathan and his band will be playing selections from his latest album 'Lifetime', which has received excellent reviews, as well as new material.

After the experience of working and recording with the NZSO on his latest release, Nathan promises to deliver a night of intimate, classic music. Nathan's father Kevin Haines will be playing bass, with pianist Kevin Field and drummer Ron Samsom.

DO NOT MISS THIS!! This is gona be Huge.. and as ive been told by the Sohl Management, my flatty... they have sold in excess of 40 tickets so far!

.....and what a fine night it was.

very intimate and sophisticated affair with really nice warm sounding system, and Nathan certainly has some talent, flute, sax, vox, you name it!

his dad on double bass was damn cool too.

Lots of really old faces in the crowd from the original "rave" days in hammy. Kinda makes you think that there is still a bubbling under scene of musicians in the town.

would highly recomend if you either like jazz or just like a change (which is my angle)

yeah, went with felun and Kas. Certainly made for a nice change, and had a chance to meet Nathan plus a few other cool cats.

well worth the 40 pinga's for each tix.

If he comes to hammy again (which i'm sure he will) I can highly recommend as an alternative nite out.

Of course the other option is sitting in cold, dark and damp catalyst generating heamorrhoids!

Laughing ~ Yep

I dig the Jazz; I appreciate its roots and the skill that goes into playing the various instruments.

There are some big 12 Piece bands that jam at a local pub close to us our pad on Sundays. Lots of brass. Rolex and I will be attending for something different.

Hope your well.
