n00b windoz taskbar question

How do I get buttons onto the taskbar, like these...



...primarily I want the blasted Show Desktop option, but others like Firefox and Office Apps would be nice too. PC got a total clean up/rebuild and I canny figure where you add these little buggers!

Right click taskbar and then select Toolbars -> Quick Launch to enable the quick launch toolbar. Then just drag shortcuts to it to copy them.

For show desktop just get used to using the hotkey.

The Windows key + D, way easier / quicker than clicking the quick launch shortcut. Easy to remember D for desktop.

From memory, just dragging them moves them from their original location. Click and drag, but before you release it, hold down control and keep it down until you have released the mouse button will copy it.

Note you can do this straight from the start menu.

As an aside for the keyboard shortcut, most people think WinKey+D and WinKey+M do the same thing, but they don't.

D minimises and selects the desktop, M just minimises. D is usually the one you want.

Yeah if you drag them from the Start Menu it'll move em but if you drag from the desktop it'll create.

Win + D is good because if you press it again it'll restore the windows back up.
