sad to say but i'm well and truly over D-Nox & Beckers - they used to sound so fresh and now they just sound like straight up electro house.

last tune I got for them was:

If anything it's Progressive Electro, though seems you can label just about anything 'Electro House' these days.

The problem with the D-Nox and Beckers releases of late is not the production quality but that it's all got a bit samey.

Naked Punch, Korny, Memory Cell, Promises, One Shot etc all sound like minor variations on the same thing and it gets pretty boring pretty quick.

They were a lot more exciting back when Seven Hours, Jet lag slave and You're a Star were being released. These tracks still hold their own against even the best of the new stuff from other top producers.

There still awesome producers though and perfectly capable of producing a stormer at any stage.

All kinds of stuff coming out at the moment. There's still a lot of that electro shit around (new Cass & Slide is scarcely believable, this is what we've waited 5 years for?), but I've been hearing quite a lot of decent tribal/tech stuff and deep prog showing up on beatport as of late.

there's some good "almost electro" prog house coming out, stuff that is good for the clubs and merge's well with the more interesting (not so weird) tech house that merges well with prog.

First it was buenos aires. then it was marseille. this time, unfoundsound adds a third chapter to the "location series" with melbourne macropus ep - a compilation of artists hailing from melbourne, australia. the idea transpired while sean o'neal (a.k.a. someone else) was touring around australia in june/july 2007. sean quickly discovered that australia - particularly melbourne - has an intelligent and thriving underground techno scene that is deeply on the rise. and because the melbourne scene is tight-knit and intimate, the city's dope output of minimal goodness seems to be fairly unknown in other parts of the world. but much of melbourne's bomb-ass techno certainly deserves worldwide awareness. thus, unfoundsound presents six tracks of druggy, groovy, head-numbing chooons courtesy of markojux, stuart mckeown, lance harrison, paul agius and craig mcwhinney. yeah, y'all! aussie folk in da house!

Vegemite On Toast and Uluroo are the standouts for me, Uluroo is disturbingly great! All good sollid tracks though, some would make great warmup set numbers, or 6am closing time wind down ones too for that matter.
