My new machine...

Several months without a turbo wasnt going down too well, and the mrs and i finally found a car we could agree on....
2003 Audi S3 Sport
1.8 turbo quattro, 6 speed manual
165KW/280NM
18 inch wheels, leather recaro's etc
Its not the quickest car in a straight line but it sticks to the road like glue and the chicks love it!!







These photos really dont do it justice however... its the only S3 "sport" weve seen in auckland, the wheels are the only external difference, the normal S3 has 6 spoke 17"'s.

not quite a series 5 but very nice dude, ive always been partial to Audi's.

How much that set ya back bro? Any plans on making it even a little quicker?

Stim - No its no series 5 and no donuts but ive had to do a little growing up! $42k this was, i will soon be getting an MTM chip and cat back exhaust which will take it to 185KW and almost 400NM but thats about all you can do without sending the car to germany or voiding the warranty...!!
They dont make an RS3 yet, and the new S3 comes out 2007 (2L turbo, 190KW) so they may make an RS version but i dont think so unless they put a tuned 3.2 V6 in it like the golf R32...

Hi Dj risk. I've got a blue s3 with an mtm chip and its a lot of fun to drive. Mtm chips are expensive though around the $3,000 mark. Have you heard about revo? There is a supplier in Tauranga and he comes up regularly. Apparently its around $1700. They simply plug a lap top into your serial port and you're away. You can also have a switch that you can plug in which allow you to toggle between standard and faster. At any rate theya re a great wee car and you will definitely notice the mtm chip. Has quite a short power band. Max power is lowered to around 5500 rpm but it comes on hard from 3000 rpm. They run up to 21 pounds of boost when chipped.

yeah i figured they couldnt tune the 2l turbo anymore aftre getting 190KW for the S3.
Shit this is going to be one insane car.... Youd be gutted if you pulled up next to an RS3 at the lights in your brand new S3!!!

Hey stylin, ive spoken to a couple of guys on the VASK forum and they say that a good company to go and see is chiptorque, as they can reprogramme the ECU instead of putting in a chip. They did mention revo aswell. I was going to get an MTM chip as i figure it will maintain the cars resale value but it will prob be too expensive. I am getting a milltek stainless exhaust this weekend along with a K+N, will will get my chip done early next year and will keep this open as an option. Will let you know how i get on, maybe we could hook up for a race??

Yeah sounds good except I won't have the exhaust and you will likely beat me.

I haven't heard of chip torque but Revo is well known.
