My car crapped out last night

Ok I took my car to my normal mechanics and got brakes, lights and some other stuff done plus a service. Added up to about $900 worth of work on the 13th of June.

I did notice the other week that the temperature gauge seemed to always be super high since I got my car back from the mechanics – when it normally sits on half, however when I turned on the heater only cool air came out.

I meant to call my mechanic to ask them about this last week. But didn’t get onto it.

Anyway after driving out to Sylvia park last night and back it craps out. Just stops all electrics go off and I roll to a halt. When trying to start it sounded like a battery issue. But there is a bit of smokey stuff coming out from under the bonnet. I was in a real bad stopping spot, and after like 5mins I managed to get it started and drove to a safer spot like maybe 500m away.

I think its poked – i.e that bad tapping noise and smoke coming out.

Do I have any grounds to stand on that the mechanic needs to fix my car at little or no cost, because it seems to me that they may have made a boo boo while doing my service? I know that this is also some potentially really expensive work.

The temp gauge was higher then normal and you kept driving it, that alone might be grounds for them to reject you, if you drove it even more then I doubt it as you kind of made it worse
