Moving islands

I got a job down in Otago and have to move in about 4-5 weeks time, I've got a small houseload of stuff and 3 horses to move, anyone moved islands and found a moving company good or has any suggestions? I'm thinking of all the other things I need to sort too like doctors/optometrists etc
