Mounting Video Camera in Race Car

Hi, has anyone had experience with installing a HandyCam size video camera into a race car. I've got a roll cage crossing behind my head & a free back seat. It will need to be extremely secure too. I would rather not be using suction cup style mounts either. cheers

youll have to get a bracket made up for it most likely.

Cheers for your help guys, we have actually made one up out of an old Tripod head bolted into a metal plate. means it is really easy to move around when needed. Actually looks like a bigger version of the ones in the links above. Managed to get it all done for about $40 and took about 35 mins.

Christopher: you wanted to know what sort of car I'm racing? it's a 1975 BMW 2002.

sweet, that was gunna be the next thing i suggested, having a cage to bolt on to makes it much easier to knock something up yourself.

cheers,it's so sweet to drive eh, we've just sorted out all the camber/caster/brake balancing so it should be mint down puke this weekend. hopefully i'll be uploading videos of laps at puke next week. That photo is from racing down at the new taupo track about a month ago.

The engine is fairly standard though - has got a worked bottom end & has got some custom manifold in it. we have only had the car for about 6 months, apparantly it had a MR2 engine in it at some stage too. ghey
