The old board has been a bit quite recently so heres something to hopefully get it rolling.

What is the most anoying thing about the contemporary cluber genre? Clothes, attitude etc?

Me and Exodus are going to publish the handbook shortly. Once we get it finished we will enlighten you guys. Sums up the pretentious people, quite funny Smile
[quote]
There not like family like us Biggie people!
we are all nice, sweet n friendly when we accidently bump into each other, but clubbers are vice versa!!
[quote]
thats true, whenever you meet someone interesting in town. They end up being one of us.
[quote]
clubbers... arnt those the ppl that go *downtown*..? Razz haha
[quote]
Clubbers in the UK are interconnected cos they\'re all on the same wavelength (due mainly to certain euphoric accessories). Clubbers in NZ don\'t seem to be the same - only some of us are on the same wavelength (due mainly to the exhorbitant prices of said euphoric accessories). If you go clubbing in the UK you\'ll know what I mean - it\'s wicked! It\'s one of the things I miss most about clubbing over there cos there are heaps of pretentious wankers over here in clubland obsessed with how cool they are (or think they are).
[quote]
the ones that just stand there looking mean are annoying....
[quote]
Attitude - the \"better than everyone else\" thing after too much to drink, that the rest of us don\'t have. We are just out there to have fun and always have grins from ear to ear! Smile
[quote]
The most annoying thing about clubbers....

CLUBBERS!
[quote]
I don\'t reckon there are too many of the pretentious kind down here in Wgtn. I have actually never been out up in Akld, but everyone down here is all good as far as I can see, nice and friendly. I like to ignore the drunks and pretend they\'re not there.
[quote]
the thing i hate the most is the fact that there are so many fucken scenesters who think they have more right to be there than everyone else, because they know everybody...
[quote]
...people who haven\'t caught on to the fact that taking more pills than everyone else and never seeing daylight doesn\'t actually make you cooler than anyone else...
[quote]
heh yeah good call bennor, i know this girl and she said \"what are those people doing here?\" the guy had long hair.... geez
[quote]
I never get this feeling down in Wgtn, do other wellingtonians get this at all or am I just oblivious??
[quote]
it wouldn\'t surprise me if it happened a lot more in auckland...

more people = more snobs.
[quote]
true, although reltively speaking more people also = more nice people too so the ratios of snobs to non-snobs should remain the same. They shouldn\'t be more noticable because they should get lost in amongst the non-snobs. Anyway, I can\'t comment on Akld.
[quote]
Go Bennor!
[quote]
More people may mean more nice people as well as more snobs, but it all depends on how these groups of people are distributed throughout the clubs. It may be the case that a larger proportion of snobs are visiting the same clubs, which may degrade the clubbing atmosphere.

Go Bennor!

I don\'t really gel well with the following attitude: Anyone who drinks even a bit is a munter. They can\'t understand the essence of clubbing or dance music and belong in Leftfield.
[quote]
The thing Ive noticed and hate about clubbers is that probably about 80% of clubbers are so in love with themselves its just not funny. Have a look around next time your out, and tell me how many people you can see that dont love themselves, think theyre Gods gift to the opposite sex etc.
Bugger all.
[quote]
I, on the other hand, can\'t stand myself... and it\'s
really attractive. :0P

Is anyone willing to define \"clubber\" for me?
[quote]
Really, I haven\'t noticed that at all.

I just continuiously see seriously WASTED people and it bugs me, lots! Especially like old aquiantances who keep coming up for hugs......
[quote]
sorry, boys & girls... scarcasm doesn\'t show up
in text. I need to learn that.
[quote]
God that sounded mean - I am meaning people who I may have met once at a dance party like yonks ago and suddenly when they\'re wasted they\'re your new best friend.
[quote]
With you on that Dave....I love a drink...and I think its just a lack of IQ or something that leads to that attitude
[quote]
Like me Moo?
Wink
[quote]
i know what you mean moo....
there are some people you just don\'t click with and that\'s fine, i can accept that...
but when they are jaw chompin, and bug eyed, they are SOOOOO happy to see you Smile

yeah, yeah, nice to see you too.. (pat, pat on back)
[quote]
imaprincess - EXACTLY! Gee love, we need to catch up!

NOS - yeah you are the most annyoing! (NOT!!!) But, I do love watching you dance - those dodgy-old-man-hip-thrusts really turn me on!
[quote]
A lot of people in the dance scene seem to have a problem with people who drink ie: talk about how they hate seeing people at events with a beer in their hand etc. What a closed mined attitude. I couldn;t give a shit whether people drink, take drugs or are totally au natureal as long as they\'re having fun, i\'m having fun and no one is annoying anyone else.
[quote]
Usually they are the same people pandering to the DJ who....HORROR OF HORROR\'S...is enjoying a couple of beers during his/her set.

I don\'t quite know where this attitude comes from...but I couldn\'t care less who thinks I\'m a LOSER (nice mature word that) whilst I enjoy a lager or voddie whilst cooling my heels.

Its all part of the fun.....
[quote]
I hate that word \"LOSER\"..... i\'ve been called a
loser a few times in the last couple of months....
by anonymous text-messagers who spell it
\"LOOSER\"....

I never, ever drink myself cause I just don\'t enjoy
it... but the only time it bothers me is when
there\'s drunk raucous types on the street, and
I\'m alone.... the drinking masses don\'t seem to
behave the same way at dance parties....?
[quote]
People who DRINK v\'s DRUNK.

Big difference people
[quote]
don\'t you morons understand. the majority of people who say they hate drinkers aren\'t talking about every single person that drinks. they are talking about DRUNKS. you know, the assholes the pinch girls asses and start fights...

don\'t be so self-centred and fragile that you assume that people who say they hate pissheads are talking about you...

try and look at it this way:

do you cause trouble when you\'re pissed?
do other people usually even know that you\'re drunk?

if you didn\'t answer yes, then they\'re probably not talking about people like you...
[quote]
Calm down Bennor.....I think most of us are intelligent to figure it out.
[quote]
whoops...enough (not very intelligent)
[quote]
and even if they are talking about you (i.e. you are an asshole) their problem is not with the fact that you drink, but that it turns you into an asshole.
[quote]
anyway getting back onto the topic.

the thing I hate the most about the clubbing (well more drug) Culture is the drug addled memory syndrome, You know the one - stuggle to match it with a gold fish.......

Now what was I saying?
[quote]
I think that you are twisted, you still need to be aware of who else is in the same state. If I\'m rather \"happy\", I\'ll try to not freak out the straight looking people.
[quote]
Moo - your just jealous coz i got it down and u dont Smile
