not that there is a debate, but there should be

The 21st century will not be dominated by America or China, Brazil or India, but by the city. In an age that appears increasingly unmanageable, cities rather than states are becoming islands of governance on which the future world order will be built. This new world is not - and will not be - one global village, so much as a network of different ones.

Interesting. One would hope that the city states exist in co-operative harmony, and display some capacity to deal with the really big problems in life, life global warming, the production of sufficient food to feed the masses, and restraining the endless search for profits by businesses

the endless search for profits by businesses is justified by the unrestrained need of prodution for sufficient food to feed the endless masses NO MOAR BABIES! (parasitic human infants)

I'm really talking about the high levels of profit by some businesses which ensure poverty for most.

As every capitalist knows, the secret of profit is to buy cheap and to sell dear. The institutionalisation of that kind of system is destructive to society and to the environment that supports all of us.

High profits won't feed the masses, high profits feeds the lifesyles of the rich.

but what we have seen this week, dear chap, is the exact opposite and a once noble institution lies in ruins as a result and we, society, are the poorer

Funny thing is, as the great masses of "we" become even more impoverished, a shrinking group of "them" gets even richer

But the "we" only fight amongst themselves to see who is the least important of all.

Um no they wont because all the important resources are dispersed across all of the land so the focus will always be on controlling territories rather than any one city and as land becomes more scarce this will only become more important.

Retarded sentence TBH.
