More electronica, bring it on =)

http://www.monolake.de/live/ontour0.html

established in 1995 by Robert Henke and Gerhard Behles was from the early beginning a musical project which combined influences from club culture and the sophisticated sound design of academic computer music in order to create a very own and unique world of beats, structure and sound.

Monolakes music has become more and more rhythmical during the evoluton of the project and is now probably best described as minimal techno with some noticable breakbeat and electro influences.
In the last eight years Monolake have been creating five albums, a bunch of 12 inches and several remixes, most of it released on Henkes own label monolake / imbalance computer music.

Since monolakes music does work on different levels, live performances are not bound to a club context. Exiting concert locations so far included spaces like a temple in Kyoto, the harbour of Copen-hagen and abandoned office space in Berlin.

For performing live and to realize complex musical structures, monolake have always been using self-written software. This interest lead to the foundation of the software company Ableton by Gerhard Behles in 1999, while the musical developement of monolake now is mostly driven by Robert Henke.

The new monolake album "Momentum" will be released on October, 21th 2003 on Imbalance.

Excellent, I will definitely check them, only got one of their albums so far, but its good.. Music

Also good electronic tour news, but probably not 'techno' enough to warrant its own thread..

Amon Tobin coming in December!
Shocked

hmm I tend to post all things electronica in the techno forums, i.e. Electro etc as I think people that listen to techno are more into avante garde and abstract music. I guess typically they have a more refined musical taste.

Definitely..
While people might be in to these types of music in other forums, techno is probably the closest relation to weirder/more abstract electronic music. People like Sutekh, Monolake, Kit Clayton etc put out some 'techno' tunes and some more experimental stuff so theres a crossover happening there.

In fact, any day of the week is fine by me.

Monday is a good night for this kind of stuff.

Monday nights is ok with me...

I'm just hoping it doesn't clash with Amon Tobin which is happening around that time. That would be typical luck for me if it did Sad
