Ok so looking at buy a flat screen monitor to run off my 13" macbook pro for production use.

Looking to spend under $500 so I'm guessing 21"-23"

Any recommendations? They all lookin the same to me...

The new 22" Samsungs are pretty trick.

Full HD, HDMI, 2MS response time. Cheap fwiw.

Here we have Samsung, Philips and ViewSonics, along with a bunch of random cheap AOC's. No complain of product, and not a single dead pixel or any fault whatsoever on ANY of them. The cheap AOC's have even stood up to almost 3 years worth of kids poking their fingers at them, not a problem.

So imo, just pick whatever has the best specs and the aesthetics you prefer for your max budget.

What I would suggest plumping for a 24". There are entry level 24"'s around for under $400, and better ones at just around $500 - $550. I've got a 22" on my work desk, and now that I've picked up a 24" for another purpose, I'm wishing I had gone 24" in the first place, even with identical resolution.

I've got a 24" Viewsonic. As far as I am concerned it's pretty sweet. 1080P HDMI 2ms and stuff.

They are reasonably cheap these days as well. <= $400.
