BAG RAIDERS

They've only just shimmied into the spotlight, but Sydney-based dance floor princes Chris and Jack, the twin hearts of Bag Raiders, have already stirred up a hurricane of hype. Here's why…

Exhibit A: The Bag Raiders EP
Lead single ‘Fun Punch’ was absolutely flogged by all those in the know, from bloggers, to DJs, to radio personalities and teenage bedroom producers, announcing the arrival of Bag Raiders in emphatic style. As a whole, the EP is something of an exercise in Jamie Madrox-esque versatility, while still retaining the giddy hands-in-the-air synthesizer heroics that have won over their audiences. The Bag Raiders EP also landed the duo on numerous compilations and ‘Best of’ lists.

Exhibit B: The Remixes
Bag Raiders have done a whole bunch of these. Check their remix for Sneaky Sound System's breakthrough single ‘I Love It’ – Bag Raiders sprinkled some dance floor magic all over that track to create a fevered disco masterpiece. When noise-makers Lost Valentinos came knocking for the remix treatment, Bag Raiders stepped up and delivered something which was a bit dance and a bit rock – but, of course, all banger. They completely flipped things around for a remix of Midnight Juggernauts' ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues’, turning the stomping original into a delicious slice of bubbly filtered pop. They've also dipped their remixing fingers into tracks from K.I.M. (which disco maestro François K featured in ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’), Kid Sister, Headman and Muscles, to name a few.

Exhibit C: What Else?
They've already proved themselves as consummate mix-tape pros on FBi's first ‘It's The Beat’ compilation and have garnered a rep for notoriously balling DJ sets alongside the likes of GUNS 'N BOMBS, Boys Noize, DJ Mehdi and MSTRKRFT. They've toured with A-Trak, Kid Sister, Sinden, Surkin and Radioclit as part of the Good Vibrations festival. And their tracks and remixes have featured on all the big compilations from Modular, Ministry of Sound, Kitsune, FBi and more.

Most recently, the Raiders have been splitting time in the studio between their new material for Bang Gang and Fool's Gold, and working on a slew of new remixes for the likes of teenagersintokyo, ZZZ and synth-pop kings Cut Copy.

Fly kids swoon for their records. Bill Murray said it was the best shit he's ever heard. Yeah, I know. It can only get better.
