Modem running HOT!!!

I have a Netcomm NB6, and it runs hot. So hot, that I have trouble putting my hand ontop for more than 5 seconds.

Why?

And is this normal? I doubt it....

Getting hot is normal, most modems are pretty small and have shitty ventilation, and if it's wifi the wifi radios pump out a fair bit of heat.

But that sounds unusually hot, I'd probably replace it myself.
