Mix Prog CDs

Hey y'all

I ain't a DJ, so all I'm after is some really good mixed progy CD's. What would you recommend?

NuBReed CDs are always good
as are Fabric CDs

Try Yoshiequthe (sp) the deep dish
CDs....always a good CD to have in ya collection

any of the global undergrounds (go the deep
dish!!!) or renaissance collections to name a
couple

Cheers - i saw Craig Richards recently and that was just awesome - would buy his CD if it wasn't like 54.95 or sometin'...

well....most of the imported cds are like that

go buy yourself the latsest issue of ministry magazine its got a mean cd mixed by the soul savers vs seb fontaine, man thats funky azz

I just had a listen to the new Chris Fortier Bedrock CD - kind of disappointed - felt a bit same old same old - liked Jimmy Van M's 10 x better.

Why not check out the Global Underground samplers?

My preference would be for the one called Locations and the other called Destinations.

That way you get to hear a variety of progressive tunes from some superduper dj's and can then decide whether you want to buy some of the other good Global Undergrounds mixes.

I agree with djrisk, that MOS cd is HOT !!!

You want a good prog cd, and we have a BIG selection, Sander Kleinderberg - Nubreed (Global Underground).. rips especially towards the end of cd1

Just wondering if anyone has heard a review about the Parks and Wilson mixed compilation? I saw this CD in Bunker a few weeks back.

Parks & Wilson, I've got the second disc of this on mp3, really good slowish chugging prog picking up towards the end.

Best mix out at the moment though in my mind is Anthony Pappa's Resolution. Lot of people don't like it mind you but anyone who digs pure prog house on the darker side should check it out.

Blair... have you heard Lawler's latest... Dark Drums 2? Reviews? I've got his Ministry Magazine mix CD - not bad at all.

Steveo... you might like to try the first Nu Breed Global Underground CD - NU001 (Anthony Pappa). Real nice. Disc 2 is wicked! Funky Progressive, that builds into some amazing Breakbeat. The last two tracks will blow your mind.

My favourite GU is Darren Emmerson Singapore (GU020). It's Housey and Progressive... absolutely first class. A must for your CD stack.

Was anyone else disappointed with Anthony Pappas Resolutions CD? His Nubreed one was killer (esp. the breaks at the end of CD 2!) but Resolutions was pretty ho-hum stuff.

I have dark drums 2 and it's not that inspirational...some great tracks like jair - shake and the maniero one but otherwise it's just OK

I reckon Dark Drums 2 is more than just ok. Probably not as good as the first, though.

Steve Lawler = overrated imo. But yeah, Pappa's Resolutions is certainly not up there with his Nubreed or Renaissance mixes, but it's still better than most of the other stuff out at the moment.

Seaman's GU should be fun, hopefully he doesn't throw anything too cheesy into the mix.

I won't take it back, in my opinion he's overrated, his cd's suck as far as I can hear.

picked up an aussie mix whilst over there last week on vapour recordings, its called vapourised3 - quite good!!! - dunno if u can get it here tho'

ive never heard a cd of his but people all over the world are saying this guy(lawler) can whoop up a crowd like no other. So much so that when diggers played after him at some fesival (cant remember which one) he had to calm the crowd down. How many djs can do that? Full credit to the man, his music may be not all that but as a dj hes one of the best...
