What do we think then?

I'm all for it... sounds hot as hell in the club Music

Recently saw Claude Von Stroke spin and he ghetto'd out some of his set into deep, minimal booty bass.

But the question arises... is it minimal, or breaks?

Do you rate it? Smile

if it moves my booty, yes
[quote]
Is your booty minimal though?
[quote]
the more it moves the more it becomes less so the essence of minimalism it is
[quote]
Got any track examples Haggisburglar? Wink

The Pack - Vans now thats some dope ghetto biz on Claude Vonstrokes essential mix from last year Music
[quote]
Was that the switch mix of vans?
Cos I like that..

I don't really have an understanding of 'minimal booty' has this genre just hit the net?
[quote]
theres a switch mix of vans? shit keen to hear that... but no was the original, im not sure about minimal booty either, pretty sure its just booty played in a minimal sounding set?

Laughing haggisburglar

Yeah that Vans joint ticks the box IMO... bit more hiphop than techno mind, but its still heavy.

I've got the Solid Groove remix of that... I'm assuming that's the Switch remix your talking about Bn1?

The primo minimal booty example I've been rinsing nearly every set since late last year is Von Stroke's own remix of Blaqstarr.

Complete with elephant samples blower

Maybe some of Booka Shades earlier breaky stuff might count too?

I certainly would'nt call it a genre, but maybe a sound/style that some tunes are taking... I think its mainly folk who are already into their minimal sounds, but are then rollin out some subby booty beats beneath instead of the trademark amplified knitting-needles and finger snaps of most minimal.

In anycase, I'm having it. Music

How does minimal go in NZ anyway?

that's just deep bro, not minimal Laughing

i do dig that vonstroke remix of Blaqstarr - shake it to the ground, might have a search of that solid groove/switch remix on vans

NR loves his deep booty.

Elephant noises? Car Put the haggis pipe down

its both

hmmm more minimal than booty from my initial scan. Haven't listened to the entire thing yet though...

I find it hard to imagine min booty as regular flavoured booty is so manic, which is a quality I appreciate. Given the slower pace of min I can't see the marriage lasting past the honeymoon.... But this is on BBC1 so I guess it has....

Hmm after a good listen I can see how it all works out, quite a nice mix actually.

Thing is... there's a massive precedent in old school miami bass, which at its deepest was more like 120 BPM 808 bass and not much else Laughing

Beyond Vonstroke some of the Stanton Warriors darker, messier sets of late have featured a lot of minimal sounds in it, with VIP bootlegs of tunes by MANDY, Vonstroke and Co. I guess you could call some of what Dom's pushing at the moment as minimal booty.

So I think there could be more to this sound in the future, particulalry if there's more stateside releases like Blaqstarr and co. Music

Speaking of which, Page3 has been known to throw down some amazing german techno-bass/miami bass sounds with some deep/minimally sounds going on Very Happy

Yeah, thats the one. I confuse his different production names a bit (but the solid groove ones are better).

I was listening to the autobots remix of Outkast 'The way you move' last night, this may almost fit this category as well. Always liked this remix cause it cuts the OTT chorus out. If I have time I might try and do a 'my definition of minimal booty' mix or something soon

I've decided... there needs to be more minimal booty in the world, so I'm gonna do something about it...

Just started work on the Defcon1-mini-booty remix of Phil Keirans 'Again and Again' Very Happy

He's playing at Laundry this weekend but easter has eaten my wallet!

Pity coz he's had some awesome releases over the years, and now that he's not so focussed on that dubious Alloy Mental shit I'm sure he'd be back on fire..

Alright, I am working on a mix..

This could be the biggest trans-tasman kerfuffle since George Gregan's try saving tackle on Jeff Wilson during that Bledisloe cup match!
[quote]
Wahey!

Will try and pump it out this weekend. George Gregan uses 100% vinyl and eats pieces of shit for breakfast.

Hmmm... the minimal bootyness continues with some of latest output by my boy Bass Kleph from Sydders:

Who are the warriors (Bass Kleph remix) - Stanton Warriors

Also check his remix of 'Shadows'...a bit older, but still brilliant.

Sorted Benny. Might try and do a more polished take however - still a bit hung. Err not so minimal but rather booty.

Now how do i get the thing from my laptop to the interwebs? Confused
[quote]
If its less than 100mb put it on zshare - zshare.net - rapidshare is alright too, other than that just have a look for file hosting websites.. I've only ever used zshare so dunno much about the others.
