Even then Auckland would probably dominate overall and Canterbury would be fighting with Wellington for 2nd spot over the years.

Southland imo are by far an over achieving side. Look at them, one AB, the rest are "no names". Well done I say.

We haven't really. Only Greg Sommerville. McCaw only played cause Mose ended up injured, and he still sat on bench for most of the game. Other than that, the only other All Black is Andy Ellis, and he has played most of the season after Weepu took his spot in All Blacks, so doesn't really count.

And remember, we thrashed the Magpies without those 2 players earlier in year.

I agree with fish_boy, the Chiefs have been abysmal for far far too long....teh Highlanders arent much better but at least they have attempted to blood locally and have actually made a final.

Its not going to happen but a Super spot would be a good reward for one of the few NZ provinces that actually appears to be thriving for NZ rugby in the current climate

I was simply replying to fish_boys post as to that the chiefs franchise should be dropped in favour of hawkes bay as they have had 2 decent seasons...

Still doesn't make any sense, it would still be a franchise, and 90% of the same team would run out onto the field, changing head office wouldn't make a difference.

Its would make a SHITLOAD of difference, where they play most their games just for starters....and the smaller unions players within the frachise are often marginalised. North Harbour for example, Tuitavake had to fight for years for a Blues spot....same goes for Lukey Mac and both players are world class

That 90%/10% you speak of is actually quite significant
