midi controllers

I was thinking of getting something along the lines of this:

not sure what they are like tho and was curious if anyone had any other/better ideas for some thing similar. Doesn't necessarily need to have a sound card onboard, but that is kinda appealing.

so any suggestions?

i would say buy a midi controller seperate to a soundcard as you may wanna upgrade your sound card one day and then you are stuck with a midi controller thats worth way too much that has a sound card on it you rarely use

unless it suits your needs (portable. live etc)

evolution midi keyboards are fine and pretty reasonably priced - even behringer do them now too...probably find one on trade me but make sure it's not thrashed

one day i will shell out for a korg kontrol 49 - mad midi controller...i like the little digital displays telling you what you've got assigned to each channel

so any shops around wellington that would stock such a thing? wouldn't mind going and checking a few options out...

is there no electronic music gear suppliers down there?

Can anybody tell me what the difference between Numark Total Control, Stealth Control and Omni Control is?
