(Warning: Possible thread hi-jack)

Actually, I don't know what star sign Jeff Mills is, but I think he rules and now he is playing at The End the same night as this gig. He plays only once a year at The End, and last year it was the utter absolute shiz-master night, quite probably my top night of 2003.

This is gonna be a difficult choice for me, Mills plays only once a year at The End and I'm kinda sure all those breaks DJs will be back before too long. For those who have never experienced it, Jeff Mills playing through the £3million sound system in The End sounds like something u ain't never heard... Cool
[quote]
I dont rate The Ends sound system that much Razz
[quote]
hmm... yeah, i'd love to see Jeff Mills too....

tough decision....

but the birthday girl's wishes might dictate things... Very Happy
[quote]
haha you'll never guess what? i think 10 july is when i go away on my holiday! Sad

oh well, there's always next time for me. damn, wanted to see elite force too
[quote]
Steve man - you need to be slapped across the wrists with a wet tissue for that. EVERYtime someone posts a gig on here you come on and say "but hang on, what about The End?". Start your own thread...

The End is like your comfy chair ain't it? Don't want to try anything new do we?

imho The End is NOT the be-all and end-all (teehee) of london clubs. The sound systems at Ministry were better. Turnmills gets better DJ's. The vibe at The Cross was just as nice. The dancefloor at Heaven was one of the nicest I have danced on. Brixton Academy, the Fridge and Camden Palace have WOW factor.. etc.. etc...

I'm sure I've seen Jeff Mills more than once and I've only been here a year. How many times have you seen him Steve?
[quote]
This thread is about the Meat Katie party, which myself and yeah but... will be going to, to celebrate my birthday.

It doesn't bother me if people want to go somewhere else on this night, but please start another thread. Dont post in this one if there is something else on that you would rather go to.

Just a bit of courtesy.

Thanks
[quote]
Is it okay though to talk in here about how Cancers are better than Geminis, or should I start a new thread about that too?

Mr. Green
[quote]
Well, it might have been a bit on the nose to post that about Jeff Mills in this thread. I'm coming down off a looooong weekend and I could have thought about it a bit more, have apologised to Pony if she thought I was hi-jacking her birthday thread, but really I have no idea what tonymanero is on about. To my knowledge that is the first time I've ever jumped on a thread specifically about a particular night and started encouraging others to go to The End. Perhaps if Mr Manero could specify which threads he is talking about it would be a bit clearer...

Over the last couple of months, across the Nexus and many DJ boards on biggie, I've started or contributed positively to threads about gigs I was interested in at Turnmills, Canvas, Medicine Bar, the Fridge, Heaven and The End. In fact in the last two weeks i've taken the initiative to organise (not always through Biggie) peeps I know to get to a (very successful) private-party-in-a-club called Traffik, and to an upcoming Latin-inspired outdoor dance festival. Most people know which is my favourite venue (and, incidentally, I know which is most other peoples favourite as well Very Happy because they've told me so, but there's always the odd one out Razz ) but that hasn't precluded me from going to loads of other clubs and events in the past just as it won't in the future, hence no "comfy zone" to protect. But i do know what i like most, and that's quality house/breaks/techno in a club with a door policy that almost always prevents over-crowding. Hence my favourite is The End, like many clubbers I know in London which probably explains why there's always a few other peeps keen to go as well. Cool Cool

ooooOOOOOOoooo HANDBAG!!

ROFLMAO Laughing
[quote]
Someone overidd it on the weekend and needs to go home early from work, me thinks... Laughing Laughing

Mr. Green
[quote]
Greenie - I can't go home early. I haven't achieved anything all day and i've got stuff to do before I leave.

Spike - Is that Argentina in the photo?
[quote]
yep
[quote]
Would posting about this on Urban Dictionary make someone a handbag as well???

I KNOW YOU ARE, BUT WHAT AM I?????????/

Laughing Cool Laughing
[quote]
PS. In your definition, why do you have yourself and little old ladies making the same "ooooOOOOoooo" noise? Laughing
[quote]
see: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sarcasm&f=1

Froggy

..and to answer your other question, no. Handbag is the term for when someone suddenly takes something seriously, rather than just making fun. Just for your information Very Happy
