Mazda 3 MPS

I had one of these for the last long weekend


190kw and 380nm thru the front wheels only... was a little hairy at times, but you know what, its fun when the wheels are still spinning while you're burying the throttle in 4th gear.
Its got traction control, but even dropping it into 5th or 4th to overtake..if its not in a straightline there is a bit of tourque steer.

but muddafarker.... $46k I think..and its a snotmobile. 6.1s to 100kmph...but suffers from turbo lag, so thats an aftermarket part that would need throwing on.. and free flow exhaust too...
cheaper than a WRX I think, but much better looking inside and out I reckon.
If it was 4wd, I'd buy one tomorrow.

Mate we test drove one of these before we bought the S3, and Erica said she couldnt control it! its got heaps of power, Heaps of touque steer but and one hell of a fast car, better than the MPS6 IMO.

But now i have the S3 chipped, id kick its arse, sorry Damien

i like em, fucking sleepers really. pity they couldn't get the AWD system in under budget. then i think park of it was not wanting to undermine the 'speed6 sales.



selling like hotcakes in the US.

also, even with the traction control, i believe the ECU moderates power/tq in 1st and second as well.

yeah I wouldnt be surprsed if it did, its got tourque for the days.

pulling out to overtake, u really have to be careful with the steering of it when u floor it.

Yeah they dont hit full boost till third gear, same with the mazda6. Quick chip or reprogramme should fix that though
