Don Nick???

Man, have you been watching Sopranos too much or summat?

[quote]
sopranos? im sure nick would be that skinny dude with big bags under his eyes, presha would be tony ofcourse Very Happy without the love of titty bars though...
[quote]
Yeah, not sure if I can afford to go seeing I'd have to take half a day off work to get some sleep! I consoled myself yesterday by buying the Movement Marky Mix CD - what da you guys think of it? I haven't had time to listen to it in full yet but totally got into Better Place - 4 Hero (Intalex Mix).
[quote]
IT ROCKS!
[quote]
Awesome cd, that is what has got me so excited about this event Smile.
[quote]
Hehe, fuck yes. I can't wait to get through the CD tonight. Very Happy It's not the dirtiest DnB around, but I still like what I've heard so far. Razz
[quote]
No!, and just to clear things up, I'm in the waste management business. Everybody immediately assumes you're mobbed up. It's a stereotype. And it's offensive!

btw, Marky is a Don and he's going to kill it! Razz

Not looonggg nooowwwww..!!

Danj yu would be the old man who eats way to much sushi Razz

if I like it hard and dirty, will the brazilians pull it off?with ed rush & optical and two tribes... is it gonna be worth it?
or would i be better to save the $ for the hard shit....
just dont want to spend the cash and be as let down as i felt at klute.
call me close-minded, so be it, but would it be worth it for a hed that likes it hard as fucking nails (maybe not all the time, good things in reasonable doses) to go spend da cash to see marky and bryan gee? convince me...
[quote]
now heres a decision to make...
will it be hard enough to satisfy my cravings for a good fucking head-pounding?
or will marky play soft and fluffy marshmallow tracks?
i can't suss it out... what sort of set will they play?
klute was raved about in welli, but i found it fucking weak up here in Ak. seems distant now, but was dubious about klute's trance background, and i was right to be dubious.
need i be re. marky and bryan gee?
[quote]
fucking biggie, my first post did work. peice of shit
[quote]
it'll be nothing like klute, but they wont be playing many 200 bpm stakka + skynet & kemal + rob data tunes either..

just plenty of heavy dillinja & full cycle stuff tho i guess..

i reckon if u did go along ud have a mad night. theyll play a big range with something for everyone & loads of contrast to made the hard tunes sound harder and fluffy tunes fluffier Smile

Movement World Tour @ Womb - Tokyo Japan - 25.01.2002
(#124) Sat Jan 26 18:17:07 2002 - Mirage

Okay so this isn`t really a Sydney event, but seeing as I`m here and I`ve got some time (not to mention the fact that the tour is coming to Sydney in a couple of weeks or so) I thought I might as well tell you about the best set I`ve heard played live EVER. First up, the Tokyo locals (DJs Freakwency, Pentagon and Aki) did a good job warming up the crowd, with spot on mixing and a nice varied selection. But it was pretty clear who people had come to see, and by 12:30 or so the anticipation amongst the 500 or so people in the place was palpable (even though I couldn`t understand much of what was being said!)...
...So from about 1:30 I went from just standing there with my mouth open at what DJ Marky was actually doing behind the decks (mixing, scratching, jumping up and down, grinning like a 5 year old kid) to throwing my fist in the air as old favourite basslines dropped in and out of the mix (not many old tracks were actually played, just little teasers - enough to put a smile on your face), to being entertained by Marky`s antics as he sang along and danced himself. The set was flawless from start to finish, the pressure really never let up, and the new shit Marky and his mates from Brazil are producing is just brilliant.
Unfortunately, I wasn`t able to stick around until the end to hear Bryan G, but all I can say is that when these guys come to Sydney DO NOT MISS OUT ON THEM!! The loss of sleep will be worth it; the discomfort at work the next day will be worth it; the sore feet will be worth it; and of course the entry fee will be definately worth it.
[quote]
Marky plays all over.

And he knows how to ruff it up like a badman.

YOU SHOULD GO, OR ELSE YOU WILL MISS OUT ON THE GIG OF THE YEAR!!!!!!
[quote]
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I can't make it, I just can't... *sobs* Why the fuck would you put a gig on a Thursday night? GRRRRRRRR!
[quote]

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I can't make it, I just can't... *sobs* Why the fuck would you put a gig on a Thursday night? GRRRRRRRR!"

thursday nights are the buisness, its all about the headz who appreciate the music and wanna be there. Not just the munter crew rolling up looking for any party. No disrespect to the munter crew of course....
[quote]
heh, yeah i have to say aside from the killer mornings on friday and work, Thursday night Bass Frontiers are the fucking SHIT! total science, doc scott and the almighty grooverider and moose all on thursdays last year seriously kicked some fucking ass, can't beat 500 odd headz inside for one reason only: the music...

[quote]
ddog: Fair enough, but it makes it a costly exercise for someone like me who works full-time and can't really be at work without sleep. Is DNB only for the students and unemployed? Razz If you put the ticket price as high as it is, you're only gonna get the serious fans for the internationals anyway, I reckon.

Are there still tix? I am seriously considering going now....!
[quote]
yeah Danjah ... I'z lookin forward to BF returnin to dirty ole studio9 Wink bring dat on!
thursday nights have always been a fav for me, I work like every other tru munta - I make time, as in take the friday off "annual leave stylez" can't u otherz do this? I mean - 4 real, u all know it kicks ass! (haha and gives you a long weekend)

Just bought my ticket, by the way. Damn, the temptation was too great. Fuck it, I'll work till 10 or 11 tomorrow night, then take the morning off work on Friday. Done and done.
[quote]
Ill remain sober this time and will be sure to keep any microphones away from you, Geoff... Just incase you feel the urge to.... You know....M.C .. or...

Wink

[quote]
SadAt - thats the plan!
[quote]
Ok Matt, and I'll bring a bib for you in case you decide to start drinking and talking like real close.......

Smile
[quote]
ticket price to high, voice???
what $35 for 2 top notch UK dnb DJ's
as opposed to most other gigs round town being $25 - $50 for one shite B-grade house/trance/hard house international
at least with subtronix/BF gigs you know you are getting the cream

[quote]
yeh yeh big ups all thursday crew

dont worry though we got some weekends coming later in the year aiiiiight!
[quote]
ddog: No, no no! It's a fucking good price! Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I just meant, that by making the price above that of a regular night out (i.e. above $10) you signal that it's a damn good DJ, and so only the real fans will want to pay the money to go, especially becuase usually you'll need to get a pre-sale.

I suppose you guys get the venue cheaper when its a Thursday night though as well? Which keeps our ticket price down, and means you guys can bring more hot DJs here - so its all fucking good. Smile

I'm not too worried eh, since I convert back to student come 25 March and I only have one lecture on a Friday. *grin*

I love what you guys do, not dissin' ya. I had my best gig ever at Doc Scott last year - incidentally, my first DnB gig. Very Happy
[quote]
sweet bro'

yeh scotty was massive last time, and justoyc just gets better with every visit as well
[quote]
I cant wait for marky, i heard Bryan G a wee while back and thought he was good, from what i hear marky with his way out brazillian d'n'b can make you run to the toilet in the first five minutes with a need to change ya undies, the only problem is that hybrid gets so damned hot and sweaty when it packs out, the fans on the back wall are to far away from the area where everyone is going hard where they are needed, anyway its like paying 40 bucks for a sauna and some nice tunes
[quote]
