Anything worth checking out? going for a few days...

If you're there on a Sunday then definitely check out The Retiro Park. Seems to be where most people in Madrid head to on a sunny Sunday arvo and is filled with singers, musicians, puppet shows, bongo players.

Apart from that all I did was drink there Wink There's some awesome bars and clubs. When I get my head together I'll try and remember a few of them for you (just woke up)

I went for a weekend and I was really bored.. there's not much to see there tourist-wise. There's a hop-on, hop-off bus you can go on but after about an hour I realised I was going to see all the sights in about half a day so I had to try and space the sights out over 2 days.. I ended up sitting around in parks or eating from bakeries to fill in the time.

Although if you're with friends you could go drinking. I was by myself. Barcelona is way better, lots more things to see.

Yeah definitely a drinking town

Check out Costellos on Caballero de Gracia, just off Grand Vía. Great bar with a club downstairs. Out the back they have a room that is pretty much one big bed with cushions everywhere and grape vines growing over head. Great way to meet the locals!

If I had to pick one gallery/museum type thingy in the whole world that was my favourite, it would be The Prado in Madrid.... I loved it there, be sure to get an audio-guide, it all makes more sense with one Wink

Well Madrid was a blast.. in fact getting out of the shitty weather in the UK was good enough. So I bit the bullet and finally went to a club after being over here 9 months. annnnnndd.... was entirely average.. Resident Djs were crap and they only served spirits and mixers, no cocktails or beers. So I had to surfice with the great 4:1 ratio girls(hot) vs guys... Club was set out well with good sound system and was about 4 storys.

Played mostly house/electro... still was amusing talking with the locals.. some guy proceeded to dance around like a monkey.. only then when i worked out he was trying to do the Haka.....ahah

went to a few other clubs playing minimal techno... but they were shit.

Still worth a look if you are over those ways.

Madrid 6/10
