Lord of the Rings

Wow what a movie!!! Even at 3 hours long and seeing it at midnight it held my attention. It was just like I had pictured it in my mind from reading some of the books.

The sets, the scenry, and creatures were just incredible. Oh and the hobbit hole - amazing.

I'm sure there will people out there who will fault it but I thought it was just an amazing movie, so can't wait to see the next one (although I don't think I'll do the midnight screening again).

Anyone else managed to catch it yet??

Those of you who could not stand the 'numb bum' effect that thousands are currently suffering from due to sitting down for so long watching 2 1/2 - 3 hour long films, you should go see MONSTERS INC!!!!

3 hours is long but so worth it to see it on the big screen with wicked sound!!! Glad I seen it at the movies wouldn't be the same at home on the TV!!

I went to the premiere in Wellington last night and all I say say is WOW!! What an amazing night!!!! Probably the most exciting night of my whole year. It was so exiting walking down the red carpet and the movie was absoutely amazing, even more spectacular than I had imagined it would be and the after party out at the studios was fantastic. It was all set up like sets from the movie and to get in you had to go through Bilbo Baggins little house. Lots of celebs to see and I managed to dance with one of the hobbits, but stupid me can't remember his name!! what a great night!

I'm going to see it tonight ...and I cant wait!

Heavenly - Sounds like an awesome set up for a premiere and getting to go through Bilbo Baggins hobbit hole - Yay!!! Wish I had been that lucky!!!

yeah, I felt very lucky, and Wellington was absolutely pumping last night which is good to see. I am feeling like shit today though after 3 hours sleep

I know nothing about Lord of the Rings, kinda passed me by. - Should I read the book first, or is the movie good enough?

I think it will do huge things for NZ Tourism, NZ looks totally amazing in the movie and when you consider the 1000's of people worwide who will see it - well, it's teh best advertisement NZ could get.

I too saw it at a premeir last night. A very epic movie. The surround sound was amazing, the acting, the sets , costumes and most of all the story.

Definetly enjoyed the movie and already want to see it again, once the blood gets back to my numb ass from sitting in a movie theater seat for three hours.

heavemly: How'd you get a premiere tick? One of my bosses at work went to that - not sure if he did the red carpet thing though. Was it compulsory?

Come on guys, 3 hours is the least they could do - they even had to cut out Tom Bombadil to fit it into that. Good old gay Tom Bombadil was greta in the book. I can't go to see it until I'[ve finished reading the book for the 2nd time. I've got 80 pages to go!

Voice: Got a ticket through work - I'm in marketing for credit cards with a bank and MasterCard being a sponsor gave our work a couple of tickets. It was WICKED!!!!

Okay, okay, you got me, it was a rhetorical question, I wasnt really expecting an answer...

also: think the red carpet thing was compulsory, - we didn't get to do the full red carpet only 1/2 of it - not being that important and all!! It was quite funny I was standing inside the theatre watching the "real" celebs outside doing their schmoosing the crowd thing and was talking to this guy and his wife for ages. Anyway, the wife says "this is the most exciting this we have been to other than a golf thing" and I suddenly realised that I had been talking to Michael Campbell and his wife for the last 10 minutes without realising it! All Michael Campbell wanted to do was go across to McDonalds!!

im so there tommorow yay for hobbits!

I was supposed to see it tonight but I just gave my ticket away. I need sleep. I'll catch it at a later date.

In just over a couple of hours now I'll be watching it. I can't wait!

I went to c it last nite and they f**ked up the first 3 minutes. The sound was all munted and couldn't hear the begining... ;(
rest of it was a masterpeice... just spooked me rite out - Did u spot Jackson in it? He always stars in his own films... ha ha.
