How much does it cost each month for Landline, Mobile and Internet Connections?

What are the various options avalible and how do they compare with NZ prices?

Not sure about landline stuff really. You can get deals where you pay a flat rate all month for a landline and then dont have to pay for calls. You can get a calling card for calling overseas though, they cost £5 minimum and you pay about 3p a minute to talk to NZ!

You can get a deal through Telewest for Broadband, Digital TV and Phone line for a set price. It works out pretty well. Way cheaper than getting them seperately. See www.telewest.co.uk

I'm with Orange for my mobile connection. Havent seemed to have any problems so far. If you are wanting a contract I'd recommend them as it can be quite hard getting a contract with another phone company when you first get here!! I pay a flat rate of £40 a month which is 200mins + 360 texts + 15 pxts (i think!).

Have a look at www.carphonewarehouse.co.uk for all the network deals.

Nice one Domino - Cheers for your help.

No worries...

p.s.

If you decide on pre pay mobile then go on the same network as all your friends...its cheaper to ring the same network than a different one!

Locked ???

I dont think so.... she was on Vodafone and I was just gona re-connect to Vodafone, will that be ok ?

UK Vodafone to UK Vodafone will be fine. But if you try and insert another network's SIM into the fone - it wont work. Its just a policy to try and keep you with the provider.

OK so as long as I get a Vodafone sim I will be Ok ??

It depends where the phone was bought - if it was bought from a Vodafone or Orange shop for example, then it will almost definately be locked into their network. If it was bought from Carphone Warehouse or Phones4You then its usually unlocked as those places sell phones for all networks. Even if its locked, you can get them unlocked at say Nottinghill Markets for 10 pounds - but you void your warranty. Even getting the unlocking code from the network provider usually only costs 20 pounds.
