London House & contents insurance?

Ok so have been looking around my room and worked out that I have accumulated a good amount of stuff since arriving. Given the crime rates of london am thinking that some contents insurance might be a good idea.

Has anyone actually done this?
Given that there are a good 100 or so insurance companies around some;
Recommendations for companies / amounts to pay / any problems when in a flat sharing situation??

I found it quite hard to find an insurance company that would insure me in a flat share situation. Went with Endsleigh in the end cos they were recommended to me. After submitting two claims in two months with them I have to say, they're pretty good

I think Endsleigh is possibly the only one that does flatshare, most others won't. Premiums are quite high I reckon but that may be your only option - would be great if anyone knew another company that does it?
