Lovely place.
The Elbow has basicly been the Funk Factory `head office' since the begining, and due to the super friendly owners & staff, along with good music and vibe, we will continue to support the lads.
Loft is deffinately intimate, and is shaping up to be a grooving little joint. Nice tunes with various tallent behind the decks (most of whom play/ have played velvet) - Check out MatA for some chunky originality (kicked arse last velvet!), also check a new tallent `Camile', nice sound and fun on the decks. There is definately a unique flavour to the Elbow/LOFT music policy, and that is reflected in the large part by the people that patronise it, especially later.
Cool, relaxing decor, kind of homely feel to it - friendly efficient staff & wicked funky beats - the place definately moves for its size!
But I'm biased, and would say that eh?
check it out.
NOTE: entrance is on high st with a small sign saying "the lounge" above the door, around from Durham lane & next to a mountainering shop - the Lounge is nothing to do with LOFT, its a R&B hip/hop place - don't let that or their security outside put you off - go strait down the ally & up the stairs.
ps. Fri & Sat, LOFT will have their own security on the door if you're unsure.
PEACE
