Now a well established event on the Wellington night circuit, Live for the Weekend at Maya is a great way to kick start you weekend early with top Wellington DJ Ali Star hot on the decks dropping all his favorite beats. If you have yet to experience the magic of Maya, you are missing out.

Entering Maya is like stumbling through a portal into a parallel universe – a world of bright lights, exotic carvings and funky music. Named after Buddha's mother – Maya has the most advanced lighting system in Australasia.

The unique dance floor lighting system Colorkinetics is currently used only in a few places in the USA. The interior sculptures, modelled on the magnificent Angkor Wat temples of Cambodia, maintain a Wellington flavour – the carved sculptures were designed by the internationally acclaimed Weta Workshop team.
