When I used to use Linux for desktop, I prefered KDE. This was going back a few years now though.
Things have changed so much since then, I hear fluxbox is quite popular thesedays?

I use KDE, although I'm using a fairly old version (2.x i think). It's pretty cool... nice and stable, and pretty much windows-like, but without the annoying invasiveness.
gnome is pretty similar I think. WindowMaker is pretty popular too.
