His new "balance" compilation was arse.

Shocked You're fucking kidding, right???

Too deep? Too mellow? Not enough "big choons"? Too tech/minimal for you? What?

The whole album is beautiful...crafted to be the kinda of mix which isn't obvious and anthemic, smooth and subtle, groove and tech...one you can re-listen to many many times...one which can take a few listens to get into...perhaps you should try giving it a re-listen, it's fucking awesome! I thought most prog-tech fans would fucking love it!

I was talking to him when he was first out a while back now about his 24:7 GU disc as he got a bit slammed for that one because of much the same reasons, people not liking it as it's not like what he plays like live/too mellow/not chock full of anthems/big tunes, but you can't listen to the kinda of slamming mentalness he plays live over and over, so he creates mixes to be a but more obscure/quirky/re-listenable.

Easily in my top 3 in the Balance series!

im with you on that insanity. the balance mix is fuckin sick. it def reminds me in parts of craig richards, but what a beautiful progression. only had a few listens so far but im easily rating it!

still, each to their own right? even if those weirdos that dont like it are wrong and have no taste Razz

On a similar vein, Do you like Jimmy van M, Balance 10.1?
First listen it didn't do much for me but it's definately a grower.
Really quite into it now

Yeah pretty much all that. We are talking about the one with 3 discs?? and each disc sounded the same as the last one. Maybe if i had it on as background music, but certainly not at the club. Still im a big fan of most of the other balance discs.
Still as you guys say, each to thier own.

Risk - yeah, the three disc one...disc 1 is a fair bit different, imo, but discs 2 and 3 are a bit samey...and I guess if the tech/groove thing isn't your thing, you'd prob not like it.

That's actually one of the few I haven't heard...heard too many bad reports about it, so didn't bother picking it up! Laughing

Haven't liked any other of JVM's mixes that much either so wasn't high on the list of things to buy.

Balance 13 - SOS - Demi, Desyn and Omid 16B is bbbbbbbbbeeeeaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuttttttiiiiiiiiiffffffffuuuuuuulllllllll!!!

Ive always been into the more bangin trancey side of prog than the chuggy techy prog anyway. I do like the groove stuff, but more on the deep house tip.

just got the sos one the other night actually.. havent had a chance to listen but heard good things Smile

lees balance mix (all 3 cds included) imho if the funkin shiz, but then i can understand why someone wouldnt like it if theyre in the deeper tip. im a fan of the whole shebang.. but especially teh building, belting tech, seen! Music
