laptops

the obvious question that im goin to ask is...mac vs pc

i know theres been a few post bout this in the past but laptops go out of date so id like to get the uptodate info..

im after a laptop for production and using my midi keyboard live wile djing.. i know the best possible laptop i could get would be a macbook pro with upgraded specs but there pretty expensive.

what would you guys recomend for a pc that will keep up with a macbook??

I bought an HP dv51009 with 2.53Ghz cpu, 4 gig ram, 320gig HD here in Melbourne for $2200 and its more than sufficient for my production needs at the moment, I love it ... my mate here bought a mac book pro for $3500 with all the upgrades, ram and cpu and hes regretting ever buying a mac book with all the problems hes had (keeps crashing on him while using logic, licensing issues moving software from one mac to another) and would rather have bought a pc laptop ... he got sick of hearing "if you had a pc Id be able to help" ... (funnily enough hes getting pc emulation software so he can run cubase and pc vsts on his mac!)

At the end of the day his mac book is specced the same as mine though I spent $1500 less than he did and less drama, and Ive got a mouse with 2 buttons on it

Id say youd be better off with a PC laptop given the availability of parts, cheaper unit cost, and greater access to production software and vsts on the internet

How about most of them? Consider specs vs. cost... its self explanatory. The reliability of a mac is largely marketing hype.
